MRSA Resources Launches SuperbugWiki.com

November 12th, 2006 · No Comments

MRSAResources.com is announcing the official launch of the Superbug Wiki at http://www.superbugwiki.com. This is an important resource for MRSA patients and their support network, as well as for schools, athletic organizations and others in our communities who are interested in learning more about antibiotic resistant bacteria.

College Station, TX  October 27, 2005 — MRSAResources.com is pleased to announce the official launch of the Superbug Wiki Project at http://www.superbugwiki.com/. The Superbug Wiki is an open project concerning MRSA and other antibiotic-resistant bacteria education. A catalog of information from various sources in print and from the WWW is contained within the Wiki, and is editable by anyone with access to the World Wide Web.

The Superbug Wiki Project was founded in June 2005 by Christina Jones, whose interest in Superbug education came from her husbands’ recent survival of a Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) infection of his spine and bloodstream. The project is being maintained by MRSA Resources (http://www.mrsaresources.com), and its contributors, Ms. Jones, Denise Rauff of the Hands of Hope Group, Inc. and Maureen Daly, all of whom have been affected by MRSA and are working on a volunteer basis towards community awareness of MRSA and the reduction of hospital and community acquired MRSA infections.

The main areas of the Superbug Wiki include a Knowledge Base, a Superbug FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) and a Prayer Chain. The project currently contains approximately 100 articles, and is growing daily through the contributions of people all over the world. We invite anyone who is interested in the growing threat of antibiotic resistant bacteria to come and learn, ask questions and contribute information to the Superbug Wiki.
