Peace officers and firefighters have frequent physical contact with individuals at great risk for transmitting MRSA to them. Whereas hospitals are the breeding grounds of HA-MRSA, community acquired MRSA (CA-MRSA) is a genetically different bacteria that is found in elevated numbers among the homeless, drug users, and convicts.
